Aroonji, an experienced yoga teacher and spiritual guide, was born in India, the birthplace of the yogic tradition. In his twenties, Aroonji traveled across India and Southeast Asia to explore various spiritual practices. He later moved to Europe and the U.S., where he delved into western philosophy and spirituality, including the work of Rudolf Steiner. Inspired by Anthroposophy, he trained as a Waldorf teacher and taught in both Waldorf schools and Camphill communities. These experiences with children and adults with special needs deepened his compassion and understanding of teaching as a service. Despite these rewarding experiences in the West, Aroonji felt a strong pull to reconnect with his roots. This led him back to yoga. After moving to Italy with his wife and children in 2019, he decided to turn his 20-year practice in yoga, breath work, and meditation into his profession.
He is now a certified Hatha Yoga, Transformational Yoga, breathwork and kundalini Yoga (yoga for youth) instructor. Aroonji’s yoga studio, Yogasole, is located in the hills of Tuscany just outside of Florence. Among the olive trees, Aroonji shares his knowledge and practice of the yogic arts with locals and foreigners alike, fostering a sense of community by offering retreats, regular meditation sessions, and special workshops, often accompanied by live music and shared meals. To him, yoga is more than a practice; it’s a journey of self-discovery and connection to all that is alive, as well as an opportunity to come together in community.
