Unlocking the Power of the Heart Chakra: An Introduction to Self-Love Practices

During this month of LOVE, we will focus on self-love and self-care practices. This session will focus on how to balance the 4th chakra, allowing you to experience more love for yourself as well as others. You will tap into how to “follow your heart” in order to live with more openness and acceptance.

The heart chakra, Anahata in Sanskrit, means “unstuck.” It is the energetic center for unconditional love, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness. It is located right next to the physical heart in the chest area. Balancing the energy of this chakra enables us to tap into its power and experience love in its purest form without any attachment or expectation. Therefore, we become “unstruck” from negative emotions, past traumas, and limiting beliefs that may be holding us back. In this state of openness and vulnerability, we can develop deeper connections with ourselves and others.

During our time together, you will move through some heart-centered yoga poses, practice several related mudras, and use some breathing techniques to enhance the heart-mind-body connection, which is central to our well-being. You will visualize an intention and cultivate self-affirmations that you will take home with you to continue this journey of self-love.

All levels are welcome.

Sharyn Hahn, C-IAYT, RYT-500, received her 800-hour IYT certification through the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2022. She has been teaching yoga and related healing practices to students of all ages and levels since 2015. Additionally, in her role as a Middle School teacher, she created a Mindfulness program that has been incorporated into her curriculum. Asa result of her own personal journey of achieving balance and wellness, she pursued accreditations as an ACE Personal Trainer and a Fitness Nutrition Specialist, as well as several yoga certifications, in order to help others with their success.
