SUMMARY:200-Hour Teacher Training\, Module 2: Yoga Teaching Essentials
DESCRIPTION:For over 40 years\, Integral Yoga’s internationally respected training program has been continually developed and refined to meet the personal and professional Yogic needs of our participants. We provide a wide reaching foundation preparing trainees to develop their knowledge and personal practice of Yoga\, and the essential skills for teaching Yoga. Graduates receive both a practical and a philosophical understanding of the full scope of Yoga teachings and practices. \nModule 2: Yoga Teaching Essentials\nModule 2 provides experienced Yoga practitioners with the skills and knowledge to teach Hatha Yoga with confidence\, clarity and compassion. Participants learn how to organize and lead Yoga classes in various settings\, both online and in-person\, and for diverse populations. Workshops in teaching methodology\, ethics\, and professional development will prepare trainees to establish themselves as professional Yoga instructors upon graduation. \nTrainees will refine their knowledge of Yoga and develop essential teaching skills through the exploration of:\n\nAsana\, Kriya\, Pranayama\, Yoga Nidra and Meditation theory\nPractical applications of anatomy and physiology\nTeaching methodology\nSafe and effective cueing\, assists and adjustments\nIntroduction to Yoga for special populations\nSanskrit language for Yoga teachers\nParticipation in Satsang and Kirtan\nEthics of teaching Yoga\, informed by study of Yama and Niyama\nSetting up your practice as a professional Yoga instructor\n\nThroughout Module 2\, trainees will be engaged in regular practice teaching sessions\, receiving individual\, personalized feedback and guidance from the trainers. These practice sessions offer step-by-step preparation for the final exam\, which is teaching the full Integral Yoga Level I class to your peers. Upon successful completion of both Modules 1 and 2\, graduates will receive the 200-Hour Integral Yoga Teacher Certificate\, and will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance for the RYT 200 designation. Graduates interested in teaching at IYI will have the option to continue developing their skills through a mentoring process with senior teachers. Teaching opportunities through IYI will be available to those who excel during the program. \nSchedule\nMarch 7 – June 20\, 2026 \n\nWednesdays: 6:30pm-8:30pm • All Online\nSaturdays: 10:00am-3:15pm • All Online\nSundays: 10:00am-5:00pm • Hybrid Online & In-Person\n\nNo classes April 5\, May 23 & 24 for holidays \nAll times given in Eastern Time US\, please check your time zone. \nThis is a hybrid training offering options for both online and in-person classes. Participants may select to complete the entire training online\, or as a combination of online and in-person experience. Live attendance\, whether online or in person\, is required for the full class schedule (as listed above) for successful completion and 200-hour teacher certification. \nEnrollment in this course includes free access to online and in-person classes through Integral Yoga Institute\, NY. Access to class recordings and online study materials will be available for you during the training and for 12 months after graduation. \nAdmissions deadline is February 16. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Admission for late applicants is not guaranteed. \nTuition\n$2000 Regular Tuition\, paid in full by February 20\nor\n$2025 Payment Plan\, $275 deposit by February 20 \n$150 Early Bird Discount\, pay in full or begin payment plan by December 21 \nTuition includes a $275 non-refundable administrative fee to reserve your space in the training\, textbooks and course materials\, as well as free hatha classes which may begin 30 days before the training.  Access to class recordings and online study materials will be available for you during the training and for 12 months after graduation. Trainees also receive a 10% discount on IYINY shop purchases while enrolled in the course. \nTuition must be paid in full before the training begins\, or you must be actively enrolled in the payment plan.  The payment plan includes a deposit due before the training begins\, and subsequent installments will be due over the course of the training\, with the balance completed before graduation. \nPartial scholarships for financial aid are available when possible. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ applicants are encouraged to inquire about scholarship opportunities. Auditors are not required to attend all sessions and will not be evaluated on assignments. If you are interested in auditing this course\, please email TeacherTraining@iyiny.org with a copy of your 200-hour certificate. \nRequirements for Admission\nSuccessful completion of Integral Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training Module 1: Yoga Immersion Program is required for admission into Module 2. The final exam of Module 1 is the entrance exam for Module 2 and will demonstrate the applicant’s readiness to continue with the training. Applicants may apply for Modules 1 and 2 together\, conditional acceptance to Module 2 will be granted\, dependent on the applicant’s completion of Module 1. \nPlease be advised that a significant portion of the training is delivered in an online format. Participants must have regular access to the internet and a computer or other device that supports audio/video functions and is able to run Zoom. An active personal email account is required to receive course materials and communications. \n200-Hour Certification and Yoga Alliance Registration\nIntegral Yoga Institute offers a comprehensive Yoga Alliance-registered Teacher Training program consisting of more than 200 class hours\, delivered in two Modules. Upon successful completion of both Modules 1 and 2\, graduates receive a 200-hour teaching certificate and will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance. Teacher certification requires trainees to successfully complete both Modules 1 and 2\, and to qualify by passing a series of thorough tests\, including written exams and monitored teaching. \nIntegral 300-Hour Advanced Teaching Certification\nAfter completing this course\, graduates may continue their studies with a 300-hour Advanced Teaching Certification. The 200-hour + 300-hour certifications confer 500 total hours of training.
